The Power Of Water

Had dinner at Suntec's fountain today. I finally managed to get upstairs, after running into a couple of roadblocks (part of it was being renovated) and sat in the centre. Not bad music - DJ was a little off today – but still quite nice. Quite a number of people disappeared after the first laser show, so I just sat there for a while, enjoying the atmosphere.

The air was cool, and a little wet and every once in a while the wind blows and I get “sprayed” with the water. It was a great spritz (better than the bottled Evian one). Somehow just sitting there calms oneself and soothes the soul. I guess I’ve always been fascinated with water – drawn to it all the time… from wanting to go to beach or see a fountain or just sit near a small waterfall.

Extremely good dinner I must say.

As the day draws…

fiendishly near, here are more Star Wars stories to get you pumped up (not that you aren’t already). With most conversations centred around what is going to take place and if this final instalment is going to answer questions or disappoint and when one is catching it, here is a look back on what has happened. With a list of the Top 10 favourite moments , I think it has covered at least 1 of each of person favourite scenes. For those whose memories are failing them, or just in need of a re-jig – there is video clips to relive those moments again.

Quickly go and catch it, especially if you don’t want to accidentally come across spoilers on the internet (which is going to be pretty easy once it opens) or have someone talk about it right next to you. I know I am going to catch it as soon as I can. I hope that it would be tying up all its loose ends and a great ending to lead up to Episode IV.

To whet your appetite further for the Revenge of the Sith, there is a
Store Wars flash movie for all you healthy people out there. Join their quest to keep the farm alive for the benefit of all!

Till next time, may the farm be with you. (hehehe)

Dogs, Breeze, Children & Airplanes

Gently the breeze blew, creating tiny ripples along the water. It was a good-weather day, so there were a lot of people at the beach - families, dogs, couples. Some on in-line skates - holding on to the parent or other half trying to balance - others moving so effortlessly it made me want to actually get on a pair.

Children running around and shouting in glee with the waves or sands, dogs running aside the owners or just lazing as the owners are enjoing the day. No matter what anyone says - the beach gives one a sense of calmness and a chance to get away from our normal frenzied pace.

Finding a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset, I bided my time watching the kids playing with their protectors watching closely over them near by. A delighted yell when a little boy sees a plane flying by and his younger sister looks up and takes in the view too. An elderly couple sitting together on a bench holding hands, looking out to see with a dreamy look on their faces, a young couple enjoing and remembering the moment with photographs and some seated on the breaker just looking out to sea - it was picture perfect.

So that I can heal faster

So it wasn’t the brightest idea to put up a MSN nick that has “I’m in so much pain” included. But well, it has been done – and I can’t think of another one for the time being. Plan B – explain it once and for all, so I won’t have to do it again, and again. Oh and again!

On Wednesday night, going back I fell down an overhead bridge. That is the reason why I am in bloody pain. Things that I have hurt:

Broken skin on my left foot
Bruised both big toes
Twisted right ankle
Pulled muscle in right leg
Bruised arm
Pulled muscle in arm

Those were the things I realised on Wednesday night. Unfortunately for myself, I found out one more thing on Thursday which made everything worse…..

I pulled something on my right side!!!

Basically that has restricted my movements drastically and with me not realising it until much later (read as: Thursday night), the actions done on Thursday morn & afternoon – caused it to hurt more.

Some FAQs
You tumbled/fell down the entire bridge? *shocked looked on face*
Err… think about that statement again. If that happened, I’ll be either dead or in hospital in ICU or something.

Why aren’t you going to see the doctor
Because, there is nothing the doctor can do – Besides give me muscle cream which I have a lot of anyway.

As the day draws closer...

I came across this website a while back. Recently I found this article while surfing aimlessly. It is an informative and bloody hilarious read which is good facts to know at this point of time - random trivia anyone?

Today I was reminded quite humorously about how useful (& how insane my colleagues are) lightsabers can be. 2 of them were using bamboo poles as lightsabers for a duel to the death. Fine, so I'm exaggerating; but lightsabers are such useful inventions (as bamboo poles are - think Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon for another scenario). On this page is my 2 favourite uses from this website. Warm coffee is such a important drink, even for a non-Jedi; and of coz for all you smokers, there is a solution to that constantly missing lighter. Just be careful not to swipe off your nose!

From one, to another

Another movie I'm waiting for... Hopefully it would be better than the last one

You scored as Sirius Black. You are a gifted wizard and very loyal to your allegiance. Whilst you have a big heart and care very much about those around you, you can be a little arrogant and reckless at times.

As it is inevitable…

The posters/banners/trailers and tons paraphernalia have been everywhere for ages. And the final chapter of the 1st trilogy (or 2nd for you anal people), is about to begin.

I came across this
article a couple or so days ago – its even written by a guy named Wendell (But of course I can’t remember the actual spelling of the jedi’s name). Its true, I've watched Episode I so many times - yet one of my memorable scenes is when they do a wide shot of Nebu, its just so beautiful.

In New York, they are having a ‘stand-a-thon’ to raise money for charity! About 300 people signed up for this line – there were lines for both Star Wars I & II. I’m not sure about the other 2, but this year the proceeds go to Starlight Children’s Foundation which is similar to Make-A-Wish Foundation.

We obviously must also have a tribute to the entire saga. So in London (for those of you so have so much time and money, you can go. Got extra cash or no one to go with, I'll volunteer for that hardship) they will be screening all 5 episodes
back-to-back and then head over to catch Revenge of the Sith with George Lucas and the stars of the movie.

They’ve already launched the toys worldwide since 1st April to create the attention and the hype. Yeah, like Star Wars really needs it.

I’m just excited as the next and can’t wait to catch it!

Then we’ll all play the waiting game and see if Mr Lucas actually will have time to do 7, 8 & 9.

New words for the day

These words just came out today, during the course of my work. And of course, it lightened the mood and brought a smile onto a very tired face. With the explanation, albeit a bit short, I still think it’s fairly quite hilarious.

Pick-pick food
aka economical rice
"Pick-pick" food just sounds so much more fun and interesting than boring old "economical rice"

Laterly
aka lately
Came from a slip of the fingers when one is doing too many things at one time
I dare you, use them in a normal conversation.

PMS…..

FOR MEN!

When I came across this article this morning, it really caught my eye during a hectic and problematic morning. It actually makes quite a lot of sense and it’s an interesting point of view on the whole situation. If women can have hormonal peaks and valleys, this is a just the male version of it. Although, it extremely different from women – it does have a ring of truth to it. When the men pull away and get all moody – I used to think it was them reacting to us being moody… but this just shows they have their own set of problems to deal with, so maybe ladies – lets give them a break and stop wearing their ears out.
