Metrosexualism

David Beckham brought it to new levels/heights.

On the train the other day, there was this male student with the Johnson's & Johnson's clean & clear pore pack in the side mesh pocket of his bag. Is society pushing "good looks" on guys - who was previously known as the (normal) soap & water gender - to sport all kinds of grooming products to beautify themselves? A look into my grooming pouch right now & all there is.... Wait one min - I don't have a grooming pouch. Ha! I go to work every day without a spot of makeup on my face and it doesn't bother me at all. I can't understand why women take so long in the ladies nor do I understand men suddenly going, "My face is in such a terrible state".

Is this world just changing to something I may never understand?

Back to basics

I watched The Pacifier recently and it was great!!

Disney has gone back to what made them to what they are today. Simple, straightforward story line, feel-good family flick, a little action and of course a romance and a twist. I missed this kind of movies - especially since there is so much other genres and special effects the story line is forgotten. I love this movie and it has now been placed on my favourite movie list.

Good for smiles and remembering the good ole days.

Unbelievable

I just don't know what to make of it. While surfing through some one's blog, I found this link to a website where the company rents out other people's sons.

It's just so weird, these are young kids.... and in the FAQ section, there is all of 2 questions. Somehow, I would expect more questions for a something like this. I'm still a little - Ok very shocked over this.

On elevator music

Recently, my office building has been playing what one would term as "elevator music". You know, those pleasing sounds that would normally be played in an elevator? Except in my office, its blasted (ok so not really blasting) over the PA system. I thought I had to only endure this "torture" during December and just before CNY - when they play the tunes that can drive one mad. One Christmas, if I had heard that bloody Jingle bell tune - which was a bad version - one more time, I think I might have gone to the Building management and started singing to them!

Now, they've taken to playing instrumental oldies (mainly). I'm a huge fan of oldies - but this is pushing it. It sounds like only a piano playing and its getting on my nerves. In the past 2 weeks, I've heard the "piano" play Unchained Melody at least 8 times! Maybe if it was a full orchestra, it would be infinitely better. But its not, and it gets on my nerves.

Why would anyone in their right mind think that this crappy music would relax people?

Another weekend...

...another wasted 2 days. I've moved into this place more than a month ago, and I still haven't unpacked completely or settled exactly how I want the room layout to be. Last weekend, I went to check on options for extending my RJ45 cable or going wireless. Was supposed to measure my room after that, but one week later, still haven't done anything. There is still boxes that I haven't even begun to unpack *sigh*

It seems nearly every weekend, I spend the majority of it by myself, in the room - probably around 99% of it. It really feels like I have no life. Also, it just feels like I'm wasting away my time, not doing anything or treasuring things I have. I need to get out of this funk I'm in, yet I'm to deep in my own self-pity to figure out how to deal with it.

In other news - I've just finished watching this Korean drama, and I'm so bloody confused at the ending!! Its such an odd ending and I can't figure it out. Quite annoyed by it. Sheesh. Since its a Korean drama, the information on the net is also hard to find so its somewhat of a trouble trying to find anything. Someone help...pls...

What does one say at this point of time?

There is nothing I can say here that would do him even a little bit of justice. He's been called the most influential man of this time, a political figure and many more. Yet, to many, he was just Our Holy Father - The leader of the Catholic faith; that isn't a small feat in itself. He has managed to do so much and has campaigned for so many different causes, the world will be different without him. He is the third longest serving Pope - a Papacy of 26 years. In those 26 years, he has done so much. He has canonised more saints during his time than any other Pope.

There are many things I respect him for - the fall of Communism; his undying support for the Youth - tho I still do not agree with some of his stands. Nonetheless, he was amazing person. Nothing seemed to hold him down, even being shot. I've got no one to compare him against (He is the only Pope I've ever known), but that doesn't matter. He has played a big part in my life and to me, and many others, what he has done doesn't need a comparison.

He has inspired many and touched many hearts. From the outpouring of grief, mourning, prayers and tears - it all signifies the extent to which this man has affected the world over. They are all right, he leaves behind BIG shoes to fill.

He will be missed by many.

P.S. The special coverage on CNN is now suddenly my favourite website to visit.
