Thursday, October 27, 2005Never judge the book by the cover
Many of us are guilty of using that cliché line so often that it loses it meaning when we say it. I try my best to live by it, but more times than not, I fail. Today is an excellent example.
On my way home from work, I got onto the bus and saw these 3 boys that were seated near the front of the bus. The first though that ran through my head was that these were unruly teenagers simply because one of them had his leg on the seat adjacent to him. I was surprised a little while later. Someone on the opposite side got off the bus and accidentally left something behind; one of them grabbed it and ran after the guy. I felt really bad after which – as even the guy who I “saw” as unruly as he was also telling the guy nearest to the aisle to grab and go after. Note to self: Always try to keep an open mind and not make judgements so quickly.

When the King says, subject must listen. So here is my dinner which I have just eaten.
I cooked the noodle dish, the fish came out from a box and all I did was shove it into a toaster. A nicer picture my handiwork. Looks darn tasty, doesn't it? I finished all the noodles in less than 10mins. Right now, it’s nicely digesting and I’m feeling very satisfied with myself. It was actually a not bad attempt at cooking within 20 minutes (I had not eaten since yesterday lunch so I was damn hungry). Since I got praise from the actual chef, he says it looks good and tasty, maybe I’m on my way to greater heights… anyone want to
Monday, October 10, 2005Second time around luckyFor those of you who don’t know yet, I have just become a Godma. She is quite a little doll with damn fine lips. As of now, she is a few days more than two months old. But she can be quite a monster – tends to always want to be carried constantly. I have a feeling it is because her grandma carried her a lot when she came home. Now, I guess she thinks it’s a normal thing. Oh well… we’ll see how that goes. The first time I was asked, I turned it down outright; even though every part of me just wanted to scream yes. I wanted to give an affirmative answer because of the mother and the child, but I also knew, it would be a bad idea because of the mother. Unfortunately, I was proven right pretty quickly (I really wished I could have been wrong).
I’m as of now, not exactly sure what kind of godparent I want to be – thankfully I have the luxury of a few months to really make up my mind. If I want to be really involved in her life, or just see her on special occasions. I do hope I don’t fall into the latter; seems that quite a few of my friends have those kind of godparents. I guess I do the same to my godparents – haven’t seen my godpa in ages, and it took a tragedy for me to go and see my godma. To compound it further, I did say I would go and see her more regularly, but obviously I haven’t seen her since. *sigh* I make such a terrible godchild. I hope I don’t make a horrid godparent.
Monday, October 03, 2005Which superhero are you?
Wooohooo!I'm so pleased with this result.
Batman Congratulations! You scored a super 72%! Cool, calm and powerful. Whilst your actual super abilities may not be anything too dazzling, you have earnt the respect of both friends and enemies in response to your amazing fighting skills, strategic combat and experience. Luckily you have access to the greens which can fund all your majorly cool gadgets, vehicles and weapons! Also, you're reluctant but still accepting to the idea of having a teammate/side-kick, which just makes everything a whole lotta fun, doesn't it now! On the down side, you've probably suffered some sort of trauma at a young age (that's why we don't talk to the old man near the swings, kids). Similar to the Wolverine, your past is a base for your current motivation, undertaking some kind of personal vow in search of justice. All in all though, you're one tough nut. There's not a lot of people who have the minerals to go up against you, and you're experienced enough not to get cocky and let the little things like never finding happiness get you down! My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:
