Needs No Words

People talk too much.

I watched Season 2’s finale of Grey’s Anatomy today. Meredith held on to her dog just before it was injected, Izzy curled up beside her fiancé after he died and Alex held Izzy, Christina held Preston’s hand and he smiled.

No words were needed; Just action.

Why is it so hard for people to understand, just a touch can make so many things better.

Multi-Tasking

I tried to be a smart-alec and decided that I should burn the required CDs for the night while eating my dinner.

Guess what one of the dinner dishes was? CRAB!!

So I managed to burn about 5 CDs and label them with one hand. For someone who does so much on the computer, with two very important hands always, it was a new experience. An hour or so later, I had a bowl full of shells and my CDs, keyboard and mouse had no trace of food anywhere

Success! A new level of multi-tasking under my belt.

Opposites

I caught up with a good friend recently. I swear we talk online so much more than in person. But it was a great night of chitchat.

We met and kept in touch under the oddest situations. The two of us are such complete opposites in so many ways but yet it is our differences that make us so similar.

We are oddballs in this conformist society and we have such interesting debates. It a sense of kinship, a sense of knowing you aren't alone in this harsh herd-like world. Tho our views might differ on many a topic, it doesn’t matter. As we know our opinion is heard, and we are actually different people—so differing opinions are a good thing.

How boring would it be if we were to agree on everything? The fun in life is always the existence of blacks, whites and greys and the spice is the debates. When we listen to someone’s point of view, we learn a new way of looking of something and very likely a new perspective.

Guilty Indulgences

I have tons of cravings which occur very often and extremely out of the blue.

Today I had a few – some that had been festering for a while, others just popped in. Steamed broccoli with butter was a new addition this afternoon, but I’m no longer craving it.

Now my room smells of butter, and it’s absolutely heavenly.

Spinning Around

For a long while now, in many ways I have been fairly aimless and quite lost. It’s been bugging me for entire time as I just couldn’t justify to myself my life.

During work today, I made a half hearted goal – to get off my butt and start doing the things that would offer me a sense of accomplishment. As with anything, this was not without a hurdle. Within a couple of hours, I was already contemplating if I should skip my already made plans; of cleaning up my room, a load of laundry and maybe a run if I was physically up to it.

Willpower prevailed and I was back, filled up with food and started cleaning up my room. I threw away four bags, FOUR FRIGGING BAGS of trash. I’ve got tons of paper everywhere that I have to go through all of it just in case of important documents stuck in between. In the midst of the trashing, I found things that were dated in the year 2003, plans for an event and company that my friend and I was supposed to embark upon and various other tidbits—some that brought upon a smile.

All in all, it isn’t a bad start to my grand master plan.

Popeye’s Da Man

After hearing so many people wax lyrical over Popeye’s chicken, I decided that I should have a taste for myself. But the location put me off. Really, how many people is going to travel all the way to Changi Airport just to have a try.

It just so happened that I had to pick my friend up from the airport, so I decided I’ll use the opportunity to see what all the fuss was about.

Oh was I pleased! The chicken was amazing. So nice and crispy, without the dripping oil of some other chicken place. I loved the seasoning to the chicken – must be those nice Cajun spices giving it such a nice punch!

Also, honorable mention goes towards their mash potato! I’m such a mash potato fan, this one tastes so good; The gravy was their winning formula I bet. Also, their scone-like bun was not bad, tho I wish it was bigger, it just was finished too soon.

The fries on the other hand, are nothing to shout about. They had that taste, a bit like A&W curly fries, but something was sorely lacking. It just felt stale—oh well, it was a good meal in any case and I was not disappointed at all. Now to make more friends go out of town so I have an excuse.

Sorry for the odd looking photos, was in a hurry!
